6 Tips to Financing a Quality Pre-Owned Vehicle in Auburn, WA - Del Toro Auto Sales

6 Tips to Financing a Quality Pre-Owned Vehicle

Buying something new is always exciting especially when it comes to purchasing a
quality pre-owned car for you or your family. Regardless if it’s new or it’s a used car in
Auburn the car buying process can be a bit stressful. Del Toro Auto sales has compiled
some helpful tips to consider before financing a used car in Auburn.

1. When you are looking for your next pre-owned vehicle, you should never rush the
process. Take your time to find the right car that works for you. Consider your
finances, your daily commute to work or how often are you on the road, whether
or not you need extra space for children or pets. Staying calm and patient can
end up saving you time and money in the long run.

2. If you visit our website at deltoroautosales.com and find a used car that interests
you, it’s important to visit us in person to look at the vehicle and take time to test
drive it. Why? Because it may look pristine and it may seem to have everything
you want, but when you take it for a drive you may not feel comfortable, or you
would like to sit higher. What you thought you wanted might not be reality.

3. Do your research. Taking time to figure out your needs when you are about to
finance a pre-owned car is very important. Look at several makes and models,
not just the car that looks beautiful. Think about how long you may think you’ll
have the vehicle and look at the miles that have already been driven on the car.
Will you be driving in rough terrain or snow? And then look at the used car
inventory at Del Toro Auto Sales. See if there are any dings, scrapes, or
scratches. Being prepared allows you to have a set of expectations during your
guaranteed finance process in Auburn.

4. Look at your budget. It’s important to know how much money you can afford
monthly in addition to how much money you can put down on your quality pre-
owned car. Most used car dealerships require a down payment, however if you
are unable to make a down payment, we at Del Toro Auto Sales have programs
to assist people.

5. Shop at the dealership that works for you. Shopping at the right dealership is just
as important than doing your homework for the perfect used car. Some used car
dealerships in Auburn may not have programs that work for your situation. For an
example Del Toro Auto Sales offers guaranteed financing regardless of your
credit history, we have programs for new buyers, military families as well as no
down or  low down payment We understand that for most people it is hard to
come up with a chunk of money to put towards your new wheels which is why we
try to cater to all our clients.

6. When you are out shopping around ask what types of specials and programs are
offered. Del Toro auto sales is welcoming and very understanding of peoples
situations, we know vehicles play very important roles in our lives and we want to

Having great credit is not the only way to show that you are deserving of a loan. If you want to show a loan officer that you should receive a loan, simply bring in a bit of supplementary information to prove your case. Items like your most recent pay stubs, utility bills, and rent agreement, and even letters of reference can establish your financial responsibility in the eyes of a loan officer. To get approved for Used Car Loans with No Credit in Auburn, bring in a few supporting documents and you will have your loan in no time.

Del Toro Auto Sales 30 Second Used Car Loan Approval

Get approved in 30 seconds or less

Customers have lots of really good questions about used auto financing. We know — we’ve heard them in our store from many of the customers who choose to finance with us each year!

Below are the 10 questions we hear most often from Del Toro Auto Sales customers about used car financing while they’re conducting their used car research.

10. Does Del Toro Auto Sales offer auto financing?

Yes, and financing at Del Toro Auto Sales is a quick and transparent process. Let’s say you’ve narrowed your search to a used Toyota or to a GMC. Now, how to pay for your final choice? Maybe you’ve got the cash in hand; if not, you can borrow the money to make your purchase. Nearly 8 of every 10 Del Toro Auto Sales customers finance their purchases through our dealership, who can deliver offers within minutes of your submitting an application.

9. How does financing at Del Toro Auto Sales work?

When you borrow money to buy a car or truck at Del Toro Auto Sales, it’s different from the way car loans work at traditional car dealerships. That’s because we aim to give every customer an honest, straightforward, and haggle-free experience. Our financing gives you choices, and puts you in the driver’s seat! You can bring your own financing when you visit us, too.

Requesting financing terms on a used vehicle we sell is easy — just click on the link finance found on that vehicle’s Car Page and speak with a sales consultant about available financing options.

8. Can I get pre-qualified?

Yes. This fast and easy process lets you choose how much you want to borrow based on the type of vehicle you’re looking for. If you’re interested in financing a purchase with Del Toro Auto Sales, visit us online to get pre-qualified. A Del Toro Auto Sales a associate will contact you to discuss any available financing options, including the amount you’re qualified to finance.

If you’d like to learn more about credit scores, check out our article about understanding credit ratings.

6. Do I need to make a down payment?

A down payment isn’t a requirement for financing a purchase at Del Toro Auto Sales, but it mostly depends on the credit score and making a down payment matters. Making a down payment is always a good idea because it reduces the amount you’ll need to borrow. Any amount you choose to put down can improve your chances of approval and receiving better terms. Budgeting for your next used car | Car Financing Auburn

Tips and tools to help you plan for a used car purchase.

Buying a car or truck is a big deal, financially. Like they say, it’s probably one of the biggest purchases you’ll make, after buying a home. And with sticker prices on today’s vehicles that can often exceed $20,000, it’s not a decision one can (or should) make lightly. At Del toro auto sales in Auburn we can help you,  so you make a good decision. To be sure, the cost of parking a used car in your driveway calls for some solid, ahead-of-time planning and budgeting.

The main question is, So how should you budget for a car purchase?
These days, many people finance their car purchases. Some actually do buy a vehicle outright with cash, but by and large, customers opt to pay for their car or truck over time. This is called financing, and it’s a common way of paying for used cars.

Many Del Toro auto sales customers make a down payment on a car at the time of purchase; they will then borrow the rest, often including the cost of taxes, fees, and pay this amount back over time. At Del toro auto sales we have a variety of prices starting at $2,999 and up. If you were to finance a used car with us we could put you in a under $10,000 car and your payments would be around the $200-300 a month on a short term loan. Meaning 24-36 months. But of course your credit score will play a big factor on the calculating the payment.
The time you take now to plan for your next car or truck purchase is time well spent — it’s the smart thing to do! Whether you’re buying a car on a budget or not, here are some tips to help you plan.

Budgeting for a Used Car or Truck

Arming yourself with knowledge about the process will help ensure you won’t feel intimidated when it’s time to make your purchase. And when you know how much you have to spend, you’ve got sturdy guardrails to help you stay on track.

Use Del Toro’s auto sales payment calculator

One of the best tools we offer customers on the hunt for a used car is an interactive calculator that helps you budget for a car purchase. Using it is easy. When you search our website, on each car if you scroll down you will automatically see the payment calculator. Just Plug in the term and what you think. Click a box to include estimated title cost, taxes, and fees for the state where you live. Plug in your estimate for an annual percentage rate on the amount you’ll finance. Finally, play with the size of the down payment you plan to make, and the period of time you’d like to repay the amount you finance. These numbers can help give you a ballpark estimation of how much you’ll need for your purchase and what your monthly payment could look like. Use it as much as you like – it’s free!

Figure out how much you may spend

We’re not financial advisors. But at Del toro auto sales, we share common tips with our customers, both to help them with budgeting and so they can make their purchase with less stress and more confidence. The more closely a customer sticks with these tips, the better chance they may have of getting competitive financing.

1. Set aside a reasonable portion of your pay. Many financial institutions suggest 15-20 percent of your gross monthly income as the amount you might spend for a car payment each month. You can use this guidance when you’re creating your budget and starting to shop.
2. Your down payment will affect your monthly payment. Want a smaller, more manageable monthly payment? The larger your down payment, the smaller your monthly payment will be. And, a larger down payment reduces the amount you’ll need to borrow.
3. Your credit is important. The stronger your credit profile, the better your chances of getting approved for more favorable credit terms. We can tell you about your credit, Click here for a quick credit check in less than 30 seconds.
4. Budget for the cost of ownership. A reality of car ownership is that used cars need regular attention beyond weekly fill-ups at the gas station. Fluids will need replacing. Tires will require rotation. Brake pads must be replaced. And typically, the more expensive the car you choose, the more you could pay in maintenance costs. Also, don’t forget to budget for gas, insurance, taxes, and, potentially, an extended service plan.

Trade your car and include your car’s value in your budget planning

We’ll address this further in a future installment on down payments. For now, though, if you plan to trade in the car or truck you’re driving today, Del toro auto sales can appraise it to give you an offer; the equity in your current Vehicle can be included in your budgeting for a down payment. If you own your vehicle (if it's paid off and you have the car's title in hand) you may be able to use your appraisal value as part of your down payment. If you’re still making payments, you may owe more or less than the appraisal value of your car. If you owe less, you can apply that amount toward your down payment. If you owe more, you may need to consider that amount when you’re budgeting for a used car. An appraisal can help you understand the role of your current car's value in your budget.

So ask yourself: what makes the most sense for your needs — not just for now, but also for several years from now. Are you planning to start a family? If yes, two-seater convertible may not be the right purchase and your budgeting might be better directed toward a family car.
We at Del toro auto sales think that budgeting is an important part of shopping for, and buying, your next used car. Click here to get pre-qualified as part of your budgeting process.

Toyota Prius
Dodge Avenger
Ford Focus
Hyundai Accent
Kia Forte
Nissan Versa

01
Toyota Prius

For nearly 10 years, the Toyota Prius half electric, half gas
has offered customers a budget-friendly blend of comfort and features. You can drive a used Toyota Prius for sale equipped with the latest entertainment goodies, including Toyota’s Entune® infotainment setup, which transforms this car into a multimedia powerhouse. Although the Toyota Prius LE’s 1.5L engine won’t pin your ears back in the horsepower department, its output supports the tiny build of this five-door hatchback. Customers love the great gas mileage, too (like an estimated** 54 city/50 hwy for the Toyota Prius).

02
Dodge Avenger

The Dodge Avenger took a page from the Charger’s playbook to create a powerful combination of style and performance. This mid-sized sedan comes in nearly a dozen different trim levels to give you a chance to customize your ride to your liking. At the upper trim levels, a used Dodge Avenger for sale like the 2012 Dodge Avenger SE features a powerful, 283-horsepower 3.6L Pentastar V6 engine and a six-speed automatic transmission. Other trim levels come equipped with one of six four-cylinder or V6 engine configurations that produce up to 200 horsepower. The MyGig® entertainment system and speakers at every corner will expertly blast your tunes or podcasts.

 03
Ford Focus

With its flashy styling, nimble ride, and peppy performance, the Ford Focus has long been a favorite with budget-minded Del Toro auto sales customers. Car Financing for First-Time Car Buyers

Car Financing for first time buyers in Auburn - Del Toro auto sales

How to find a good first car and how to get car financing!

So, you’re in the market for your first new or used car. Congratulations! The open road awaits you!
You probably have questions about the process — how to find the right first car, how to go about buying it, and how to secure financing for your purchase. We’ve got answers! Below are some commonly-asked questions our customers often have as a first-time buyer. Let’s get into it!

How does financing work?
Say you’ve found a sweet used car at del toro auto sales in Auburn — great condition, low miles, and it’s got everything you need. Looks like a great first car, but how do you pay for it? When you finance a car purchase, you’re borrowing money and entering a contract to repay it over time, usually in monthly payments.

This is a standard practice, and lots of people use financing to purchase larger items like vehicles and big appliances.

At Del toro auto sales, financing is different from the haggling you might face at traditional new- and used-car dealerships, where you negotiate financing terms and may experience a lack of transparency. At Del toro auto sales in Auburn your sales consultant doesn’t get paid based on your financing terms! Here’s how the process works.

1. Do your research and establish a budget. Take a good look at your needs for your first car, including your driving requirements, to make sure you get behind the wheel of a vehicle that suits you for as long as you plan to keep it.

Use our online calculator to understand the costs and the benefits of making a down payment. Check your credit score — your credit will be a factor in your available financing options. Understand the financing terms you’ll be hearing about as you go through the process. Your used car research will pay off.

2. Get pre-qualified. This gives you an idea of how much you can spend on your purchase.

3. Come see us at Del toro auto sales in Auburn. We’ll sit down with you to go over available financing options. Finance decisions come directly from our finance sources, usually within minutes of submitting your application.

How do I budget for a used car?

How important is a down payment?

A down payment is the amount of money you put down at the time of your purchase. Some dealerships require a down payment, but at Del toro auto sales, making a down payment isn’t a requirement in all situations. But it is important. If you’re looking to buy a Ford or Kia for your first car, making even a small down payment — even $100! — is better than nothing at all.
That’s because it reduces that amount you’ll need to finance and your monthly payment amount.

If you have a vehicle to trade in, you can get your car appraised (yes, you can put your offer from Del toro auto sales toward the purchase of a used car or truck at Del toro auto sales).

Can I get approved if I have no credit? How about bad or damaged credit?

10 Ways to spot a flood-damage car

How to Avoid a Hurricane Car

How to Avoid a Hurricane Car
Floods have drenched much of the United States in last couple of weeks, with high water levels that ruined homes and businesses and dealt devastating losses to their owners. A less-publicized casualty of these natural disasters is the number of flood-damaged cars left behind, such as the estimated 500,000 cars that were damaged by Hurricane [source: Insurance Information Institute].

When subjected to deep flood levels, soaked cars are often classified as totaled and are demolished. Some flooded automobiles, though, end up on used car lots.

Buyers beware: Not all dealers are up front when a car has flood damage, and it can cost you. Even if a car looks good and seems to run fine, expensive problems can appear later as corrosion continues to creep inside critical components. Flood-damaged cars can also cost more than money: These automobiles can be dangerous to drive and the results may even be fatal.

Unfortunately, flood-damaged vehicles can be hard to spot, but knowing the signs can help. Here are 10 ways to determine if a used car is a clean machine or a juicy lemon.

Be a Smart Shopper
A good place to start when buying a used car is to talk to a reputable dealer. Long-time dealerships with good histories won't risk their reps by ripping off their customers. With any dealer, ask if the car you're eyeing has been damaged by floods, and get the answer in writing. Anything less than a firm "no" or any hesitation to commit to that answer in writing are causes for concern.
Ask the dealer to let you look at the title, too. You can see if the car came from a flood-damaged region, and you can check for a stamp that reads "Flood" or "Salvage," required by law in some states.
Finally, beware of used cars with price tags far below market value without explanation. There's usually a reason.

The Sniff Test
he quickest way to sniff out whether or not a car has flood damage is to literally sniff it. It's very difficult to completely rid a flood-damaged car of its moldy aroma, and mildew formation is a sure sign that the car was exposed to significant amounts of water. This unpleasant smell is a helpful clue for prospective buyers.
If you smell the mold right away, you're probably looking at a flood-damaged car. If you aren't quite sure, however, close the windows and doors, sit inside, and give it a good long sniff.
In addition, you may appreciate the pleasant scent of an air freshener, but be warned that strong air fresheners may be a sign that the dealer is covering up a less agreeable odor.

Feel Your Way Around
Along with your sense of smell, your sense of touch is important to sensing moisture in a used car. Water from flooding tends to collect in locations even the dealer may miss.
Run your hands along the carpet and pat it in different spots to try to locate moisture. If you're able, peel back the carpet to see if you can feel moisture between the carpet and the car body. You may also see other signs of water damage, such as rust, by looking under the carpet.

Be sure to open the trunk and feel around the carpet there, as well. Then take out the spare tire and feel the material underneath. This is a location where water tends to collect, and it can be missed during even the most thorough of preparations for the lot.

Spot Corrosion Clues
Corrosion is a common affliction in flood-damaged cars. The damage you see today isn't the only ramification of rust: Corrosion continues to eat away at materials long after the car is dry.
Rust and corrosion are often visible. Look for signs of corrosion on metals both inside and out. If you see rust on screws, door hinges, hood springs, trunk latches or brackets under the dashboard, for example, you know those metals had significant contact with water.

To check even more thoroughly, open the doors and look at where the door meets the body. Corrosion often occurs in that corner. In fact, check all four doors, including the bottoms, inside and out.
Finally, use a mirror and look below the seats to see if the springs are rusty. Use the mirror again to check the undercarriage of the car for flakes, metal that's been eaten away and other signs of corrosion.

Faulty Fabrics
The upholstery that covers a car's interior can uncover a flood cover-up, too, with close inspection. Take a careful look at all the upholstery -- front, back and under the seats -- to spot blotchy, brown water stains.
Another clue is the quality of the carpet. If the car is 10 years old but the carpet looks new, be suspicious. Likewise, if the upholstery doesn't appear to match, with sections that are a different color, faded, newer or with patterns that don't line up, then someone may have removed water-stained patches. Loose carpet, too, requires further scrutiny.
Don't forget to compare the floor carpet to the upholstery on the doors and the roof to be sure they all appear to be the same age and color.

Take a Test Drive
A compromised electrical system is a critical and potentially life-threatening hazard inherent in cars exposed to high waters for extended periods of time. You'll want to test the car extensively to ensure all electrical components are operational.

First, poke your head under the dash and gently bend the electrical wires to see if they're brittle. If they are, you've likely detected water damage. Water damage to the rest of the electrical system is harder to view, however, so you'll need to take the car on a test drive and try out all the electronics.
When you turn the ignition, listen for unexpected sounds, and use your eyes and nose to see if smoke appears anywhere. Be sure all the dashboard lights come on, including the back lighting, and check headlights, turn signals and emergency blinkers.

Turn on the air conditioning, wipers and cigarette lighter to be sure they work as expected. And don't forget to listen to the radio: Static-plagued or distorted audio, or no audio at all, could be the result of water damage.

Check the Oil
Changes in the color and viscosity may indicate that water has gotten into the engine's oil. If you're accustomed to checking your own oil level and quality, you may be able to spot a flood-damaged vehicle by performing an oil check.
Oil in a flood-affected auto will be a different color, sometimes compared to coffee with milk or a chocolate milkshake. The oil may be pale when it should be dark. Oil that's been affected by flooding may also feel sticky to the touch.
While you're under the hood, check the paper air filter, too. If it has water stains, that's another clue that water has seeped in where it shouldn't have.

Soggy Signs
There are some areas of a car that won't dry no matter how hard someone tries to cover up flood damage. Look closely at all lamps. Headlights and taillights may appear foggy when water has accumulated inside.

The same can be true of the instrument panel, and interior and exterior mirrors. If they appear foggy, they, too, may have moisture that hasn't evaporated.
Water also tends to pool in the overhang inside the wheel well, so check for signs of dampness, corrosion or tell-tale water lines. Examine the doors and trunk for any water lines as well; they indicate how high the water level may have been when the car was flooded.

Dirty Details
While a car is sitting (or floating) in a flood, the water carries in all manner of debris, such as grass, dirt, sand and silt. When the water level recedes, the water itself may be gone, but much of the debris remains. It's difficult for someone cleaning a car to remove all of it.
When examining a used car, you'll want to look in the places where mud and grass may remain after a flood. These include the following areas:

• inside and under the glove compartment
• engine crevices
• the trunk
• under the spare tire
• under the dashboard
• below seats and in seating tracks
• in wheel wells
• around wiring

If you do find debris in these areas, the car may have been sitting in water for a while.

Rely on Expert Eyes
Even a used car is an investment, and you don't want to buy a damaged car that will cost you tons of money in the long run. If after your own inspection you still aren't sure the car is completely dry, hire an expert.

A good mechanic will know where to look for signs of flood damage. That's especially true of places you may not know how to examine, such as the alternator, certain wiring mechanisms and pumps.
The mechanic should also take the wheels off and inspect the brakes and wheel components, which can carry tell-tale remnants of a flood history, such as silt and mud.
